“Never minimize the consequences of a bad habit”

During this global pandemic, many people have suffered and failed at something from losing their business to losing their loved ones. However, when people talk about failure, they normally think it’s only related to business and forget that failure has many forms and stories behind it. Similarly, when people talk about smoking, they simply just think that it’s a bad habit without taking it seriously. What people are failing to see is that we are surrounded by deadly habits like smoking for instance or not being hygienic enough during this time. On that note, the following story will reveal the consequences behind Sam’s recklessness and his inspiring survival.

Sam started smoking when he was 16 and he couldn’t stop ever since despite his family’s interventions. Every time he saw them, they lectured him and made bad jokes about his breath and how he smelled but he used to always ignore their comments and failed attempts of making him quit. On a cozy night, Sam was enjoying a cigarette when suddenly he started coughing loudly. He went to sleep and didn’t think much of it until the next morning when his monstrous coughs woke him up. It didn’t set right with him so he rushed to take the covid-19 swab. After a couple of hours, the test results came back and surprise surprise, they’re positive! Since Sam was a smoker, the virus destroyed his lungs and he was hospitalized for days on his death bed. He not only was a smoker; he wasn’t taking any precautions as well. With a miracle, Sam has recovered his health and is now an ex-smoker! He realized that his health is above all and nothing can change that.

Sam learned the most valuable lesson of never minimizing the consequences of a bad habit. It’s not easy quieting a bad habit, but with determination and patience you can do anything. A healthy body means a healthy lifestyle and healthy relationships.

“No matter how bad you let yourself go, always make the effort to build up whatever you broke”

Sometimes we let our worse get the best of us and end up facing so many challenges because of our slips. But we must not give ourselves excuses for those slips or we will become someone we don’t want to be. It’s completely normal to fail and to allow your weakness to take over as long as you make the effort to fix it. So, can someone repent and do better after failing? Dan’s story is your reason to believe that repentance exists even after doing something like cheating.

Dan is a married man with 2 kids but that didn’t stop him from having these urges of being with other women. He never thought of acting on them until one night when he was out with his friends and a woman approached him. This is not the first time a woman approaches Dan but he was feeling more vulnerable that night than ever. He followed his urges and went to a hotel with her and didn’t come back until the next morning. When his wife confronted him about it, Dan’s voice trembled and his wife knew that he did something wrong. After that, she packed her bags, took the kids, and left. Dan has never felt more ashamed and helpless, he couldn’t believe that he allowed a stupid mistake like this to ruin his life. Even after many attempts of failing to get his wife and kids back, he didn’t give up. Day by day, his wife started talking to him and building back their relationship until he eventually reunited with his family. Dan knew what he did was wrong and made sure to fix what he caused by not giving up and repenting.

Nothing is unbreakable just as nothing is unfixable. No matter how bad you let yourself go, always make the effort to build up whatever you broke. In that sense, there’s good in all people so never think the worse in them.
